Working with Scm Group means being part of a community of 4000 people spread across the entire globe. An essential human resource for our company which we need to make the most of, in terms of relations.

This is why Management instantly took on this new project, devised by a group of employees working as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility: the Scm Group Social App.

What does it involve

The Scm Group social app is a virtual space set out as a genuine social network, arranged into several “communities” where news, innovative ideas and opinions of common interest can be exchanged and where useful services and opportunities from the areas of the different Group headquarters can be shared; a place where one can feel closer together, from one end of the world to another.

The social app is also meant to be a way to collaborate more rapidly on matters linked to work, thanks to the opportunity to be a part of specific communities for each area, site, organisation and company project.

The application can be accessed by smartphone as well as from a PC, making it accessible to every employee: from production units to offices. The social app is highly customisable and the aim is to make it grow thanks to the contributions from every employee.

Remaining close and connected, even from afar

The current situation linked to the spread of COVID-19 across the globe has further convinced Scm Group of the need for a communication tool of this kind, which can help further break down distance barriers and share information and experience between the different headquarters around the world.

Furthermore, the social app may pave the way for a new knowledge sharing system including the whole Scm network, gathering also external parties such as customers, suppliers, advisors and so on. In other words, in the future the application could power a real Scm “ecosystem”, being also used as as a gateway to other websites/applications related to various manufacturing processes.
