Arts et Métiers is a higher education engineering school in France. It includes 8 Education and Research Campuses and 3 Institutes across France. With 15 research laboratories and 1 PhD program, Arts et Métiers develops teaching and research activities in five strategic fields: Future of manufacturing, Mobility, Energy, Health Technology, Construction.

Arts & Métiers and especially the Laboratoire Angevin de Mécanique Procédés innovAtion (LAMPA Lab) will coordinate the INEDIT project.

The Institute for Industrial Management (FIR) at RWTH Aachen University develops models, methods and concepts to be implemented in industrial and service enterprises. FIR has a multi-disciplinary staff of approx. 50 researchers who possess a unique mix of experience and skills in engineering, computer sciences and business management. Since FIR is experienced in developing and implementing business models and concepts, FIR will work in WP2 and will lead WP5 in the INEDIT Project.

SUPSI offers more than 30 Bachelor's and Master's Degree courses and carries out research in key domains for EU competitiveness. Within SUPSI, the Institute of Systems and Technologies for Sustainable Production (ISTePS) participates in the project providing foregrounds in the open design platform for furniture co-creation, for the underlying organisation of the distributed production ecosystem and for defining the business model of the resulting multi-sided platform.

Leading role in INEDIT: specification and formalisation of the DIT process.

AIMEN is an Innovation and Technology Centre highly specialized in materials and in advanced manufacturing technologies, especially joining technologies and laser technologies applied to materials processing, robotics and automation.
Within the project, AIMEN participates leading one of the Open Pilot Lines, centered in wood materials. This pilot line focuses in the development a robot-based 3D printing system, new wood-based materials for it and the integration with INEDIT ecosystem for the production of furniture generated in it.

AIMEN will also develop an AI-based tool to assist in the co-creation process of new furniture. This tool will use the users input to automatically generate customized furniture that can be directly send to the INEDIT ecosystem to be produced.

Hanze University of Applied Sciences is the largest university of applied sciences in the northern Netherlands. Its main research focus is on entrepreneurship, energy and healthy ageing. Research is carried out in six multidisciplinary research centres. One of these centres is Noorderruimte, focuses on research into the built environment.

Within this centre, the lectorate Living Environment in Transition will analyse co-creation, value creation and inclusiveness in the INEDIT project.

UNINOVA - INSTITUTO DE DESENVOLVIMENTO DE NOVAS TECNOLOGIAS is a multidisciplinary, independent, and non-profit research institute employing around 180 persons, located in the metropolitan area of Lisbon. It was formed in 1986 by the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Nova University of Lisbon (FCT-UNL - www.fct.unl.pt), a group of industrial associations, a financial holding, and up to 30 companies. The main aim of UNINOVA is to pursue excellence in scientific research, technical development, advanced training, and education. The main role of UNINOVA in INEDIT project is to enable smartification concept in DIT process.

CRIT is a SME innovation company belonging to 26 large manufacturing and processing industries in Emilia-Romagna, including SCM, FIAT Group, ALSTOM, Tetra Pak. CRIT addresses services both to shareholders, mostly large companies, and to their suppliers, which are mostly SMEs. The aim of CRIT is to support enterprises in innovation and technology transfer by acting as a common ground for collaborative industrial research. In addition, CRIT acts as collective technological interface among industrial actors and Research centres throughout the world. Core activities of CRIT are: management and deployment of technology transfer projects; analysis and processes of mission critical information on specific technology fields or key-players; development of collaborative innovation activities aimed at quickly starting up the adoption of new technologies.

In INEDIT CRIT is leading the communication activities (WP7) and is involved in the DIT approach training activities (WP2) and in the testing of the platform with students communities (WP3).

The main role of the company in INEDIT is about the demonstration/validation tasks: how a company operating in the furniture sector can leverage the DIT approach and platform to involve its customers, its suppliers and the technological resources at its disposal to produce and to envision innovative customer-driven pieces of furniture.

Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH is a non-profit research organisation within the Steinbeis Foundation for Technology Transfer. Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ) is an enterprising unit within the SIG, operating since 1990 as a not-profit unit supporting innovation in SMEs, cross-border technology transfer, building innovation capacities in SMEs, and supporting promotion and participation in EU research projects.

As partner in the INEDIT project, Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum is responsible for building an open innovation community and facilitate clustering and networking of relevant European stakeholders in the areas of furniture manufacturing and co-creation. To this aim, Steinbeis is developing an efficient planning and monitoring tool in the form of a dissemination and exploitation strategy to help engage all partners in the community building.

Université de Lorraine (UL), via ERPI laboratory, works in the field of industrial engineering focusing on management innovation processes and technology. UL will develop a framework of a replicable Open Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (OMDF) involving customers, designers, SMEs and other stakeholders in order to switch from conceptualization to materialization stages with the adapted sustainable and agiles supply chain in a DIT dynamic. Furthermore, ERPI team will use the Lorraine Fab Living Lab® platform supporting the recycling case study.
